Enlisted in September 1942. He was Commissioned in San Angelo, Texas in 1943. Sent overseas as a Bombardier to somewhere in England. On his first mission, he volunteered for a bombing run to Europe. The plane was shot down and the entire crew was lost. It was November 26, 1943.
