Entered the service on 3/19/40. Birth Date, 5/25/20. Served on two Destroyer Escorts. The USS Porter was sunk in the Coral Sea. The USS England (this little Destroyer Escort) in twelve days sank 6 Japanese submarines. They limped back to the U.S. It was the wedge that broke the war in the Pacific.
