Activity During WWII

Enlisted July 1940. Basic training at Bolling Field, Washington, D.C. Left for overseas January 8, 1942 as a Private 1st Class with 1st Class Specialist rating. Served in the North African mission in Cairo, Egypt; Ceylon, Bangalore, Asansol and New Delhi, India; and in the 10th Air Force in Assam, India; New Delhi and Calcutta, India and then in air transport command at Love Field, Dallas, Texas. Separated from service as chief warrant officer on October 15, 1945. Total military service 5 years, 3 months with 2 years and 7 months of that overseas. Received a bronze star medal and Presidential Unit Citation.
