Met the Russians at the Elbe River; end of the war May 6, 1945. Inducted at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana March 6, 1943 and received an honorable discharge October 19, 1945 at Camp Bowie, Texas with the rank of Private 1st Class. Participated in the following battles and campaigns: Normandy, Rhineland, Northern France, Central Europe and Ardennes. Service number 35097204.
