4th Infantry Division. Wounded by shrapnel on June 13, 1944 in the Normandy, France invasion. Sent to a hospital in England to recover. After recovery, volunteered to return to front lines, and was killed in action on January 24, 1945 by artillery shell shrapnel in Luxembourg. Buried at American Military Cemetery, Hamm, Luxembourg. Awarded the Purple Heart.
