April 1944 to 5 August 1944 training (at Stillwater; Oklahoma - Army Specialized Training Reserve Program) and North Camp Hood, Texas (Tank Destroyer Reconnaissance). I was moved to Korea on September 8, 1945 to assist in getting Japanese troops back to Japan and returned to the U.S. for discharge in September 28, 1946. My time spent in Okinawa was not considered combat duty -- the island had been declared and the war ended the day I left the U.S. to go to the Pacific Theatre.
