Was active duty during the outbreak of WWII. Served with the Flying Tigers in China, winning many awards for his heroic deeds. I can't remember him saying what his rank was during the actual war, but he retired in 1964 from Roswell Air Force Base as a Senior Master Sergeant after serving for 24 years. He passed away of Alzheimer's disease, March 2002.
