82nd Airborne and jumped into Ste. Mere Eglise, Normandy, on D-Day. Also made historic jumps into Holland and Belgium. His feet were frostbitten while making his way through the forest in Germany. He was given a Purple Heart after being shot. Also trained police dogs before becoming a paratrooper.
