In the 82nd Airborne. Jumped into St. Maire Eglise, Normandy, on D-Day. Also made historic jumps into Holland and Belgium. His feet were frost bitten while making his way through the forest in Germany and he was awarded the Purple Heart after being shot. Also trained police dogs before becoming a paratrooper.
