Worked as child in Transportation Company. Cleaned and serviced Buses to help keep them running to haul to bases G.I.'s and draftees in and to home from war. Did office work in between school. Trained for warfare if invaded as a runner behind lines. Wrote letters and sent care packages to G.I.'s overseas. Had Victory Garden. Taught school when substitute not available (in service) teacher shortages during war. Whole being and Family were geared to winning war and keeping home front safe and something G.I.'s come home to.
