Activity During WWII

He entered the service in 1943 as an aviation cadet. He was trained to be a Navigator for the Army Air Forces and was stationed in Guam and Okinawa. He flew with the 20th Air Force, 497th Bomb Group and the 869th Bomb Squadron in the B-29 aircraft; A square 12 (Hot Pants) and A square 15 (Agony Wagon). He had completed two combat missions when the war ended. He flew several Prisoner of War supply missions to prison camps in Japan.
