Worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. When he attempted to enlist, he received this assignment instead, as he was the sole support for his expectant wife. He was transferred to Bremerton, Washington where he continued his work as an engraver of gun sites and related needs. He was very proud to be able to help in whatever way possible in the combined effort to support the war effort.
