Activity During WWII

Served in the Americal Division in the South Pacific, as a Forward Observer for the artillery. Was among the first U.S. servicemen who arrived in Melbourne, Australia after December 7, 1941. Saw action at Guadalcanal, Bougainville and Noumea; among other sites. Was wounded, and contracted several tropical diseases, while serving in the South Pacific.
