Activity During WWII

Was a welder in the Portsmouth Navy Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. Even though he wanted to join the Navy, the government deemed his job as a welder to be too valuable to allow him to enter the service. Served his country by repairing ships that had been damaged in the war battles. He also worked on the making of the rescue chamber used by Navy divers to rescue those in peril on a stricken submarine.
