SERVED IN 160TH FIELD ARTILLERY, 45TH DIVISION THUNDERBIRDS. WOUNDED BY SHRAPNEL IN SALERNO, ITALY. RETURNED TO COMBAT AFTER 8 WEEKS. CONTINUED ALL THE WAY INTO GERMANY. ARRIVED AT DACHAU ONE DAY AFTER THE GERMANS HAD EVACUATED. HE WITNESSED HORRIBLE SIGHTS THAT HE WAS VERY RELUCTANT TO DISCUSS. AWARDED THE BRONZE STAR, PURPLE HEART AND GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL. BORN DECEMBER 2, 1917. DIED APRIL 1, 1992.
