As a Private First Class, my father served with Company C, 1506th Parachute Infantry Regiment; with whom he jumped into Normandy on D-Day. He also participated in Operation Market Garden, the Battle of the Bulge and Berchtesgaden. He was wounded three times and was the recipient of Purple Hearts with clusters, as well as the Bronze Star.
