He was a rifleman in the 304th Regiment of the 76th Infantry Division. Earned battle stars in Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Awards: Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star for Valor, Purple Heart and several letters of commendation. Now rated at 40 percent disability as a result. Entered service at age 17 and was discharged the day of my 19th Birthday.
