LEFT FOR TINIAN ISLAND ON NOVEMBER 18, 1944. ASSIGNED TO 313TH WING, 9TH GROUP, 99TH SQUADRON. BEFORE AUGUST 6, 1945 WAS ASSIGNED TO REFUEL ENOLA GAY, BEFORE 1ST ATOMIC MISSION TO HIROSHIMA. LEFT TINIAN ON NOVEMBER 22, 1945 ABOARD LST 1085. LEFT PEARL HARBOR ABOARD LAST 'MAGIC CARPET' RUN OF USS WEST VIRGINIA, ARRIVING SAN PEDRO, CALIFORNIA ON DECEMBER 17, 1945. DISCHARGED ON DECEMBER 30, 1945 AT JEFFERSON BARRACKS AND HITCH-HIKED HOME.
