Attended the Army Specialized Training Program at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California. After one year of basic training at Camp White Medford, Oregon. Joined the 14th Infantry Regiment, 71st Division at Hunter-Liggett Military Reservation, California. Moved to Fort Benning, Georgia and was detached and sent overseas to France. Volunteered for Military Government in Germany. Supervised forestry, fishing, hunting and all business for the city and county of Wurzburg, Bavaria.
