JOHN SERVED IN THE 128TH INFANTRY, 32ND RED ARROW DIVISION. HE WAS A PLATOON MEDIC IN THE PHILIPPINES AND WAS INVOLVED IN THE BATTLE OF THE VILLA VERDE TRAIL. AFTER THE SURRENDER, HE WAS IN JAPAN FOR FOUR MONTHS.
