ASSIGNED TO COMPANY K, 3RD BATTALION, 18TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 1ST DIVISION, LATE NOVEMBER 1944 TO FEBRUARY 1945. SERVED AS A BROWNING AUTOMATIC RIFLEMAN. SPENT 120 DAYS IN HOSPITAL DUE TO INFECTIONS AND BOILS. THEN SERVED ONE YEAR IN OCCUPATION OF GERMANY WITH COMPANY K, HEADQUARTERS COMPANY AND COMPANY M, AS DRIVER, DISPATCHER AND COMPANY CLERK.
