Went in March 1943, inducted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and sent to Camp Campbell, Kentucky. In the late fall of 1943 he was sent to Ohio State to be in the Army Specialized Training Program. In summer of 1944 he returned to his armored division at Camp Campbell, Kentucky and was soon sent over to the European Theater of Operations. He arrived at the port of Marseilles, France where he was in the reconnaissance light tank division. He served in the Rhineland, Central Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon. Battery C, 60th Field Artillery Battalion. Mustered out of the army In March 1946.
