Served in the Pacific for 4 years. Commissioned the destroyer Aaron Ward 483, Serving on it for 2 years. During the Battle of Guadalcanal 11-13-42, he was on an anti-aircraft gun with 6 other sailors. My father and one other sailor were the only 2 survivors. He also served on the USS Lexington Aircraft Carrier.
