He was a 2nd Lt and 1st Lt. and served as bombardier. He flew a B-17 over the South Pacific. Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross in June 1943. He was one of last to be evacuated from Java before the Japanese attacked. He left the war zone in June 1943 and was Discharged on January 7, 1947 as a Major.
