Activity During WWII

Taught in Anti-aircraft, Officer Candidate School (OCS). When that school was closed, he was assigned to 86th Division. He was killed while closing the Ruhr Pocket, less than a month before the German surrender. He was the first officer killed in his regiment. An 88-mm shell hit a tree, the tree burst and shrapnel hit him right between the eyes and blew out the back of his head. He was my big brother and boyhood hero.
