As a single mother born in Poland, Lottie Mozur was highly patriotic about America. She sent her two sons to war at the ages of nineteen and twenty. She was active in Civilian Defense, rolled bandages for the American Red Cross and translated letters from servicemen for Polish mothers who could not read or write English.
