He was a captain, dentist and battalion dental surgeon of the cavalry combat engineers, tank destroyers and anti-aircraft artillery. Assistant to the battalion surgeon; acting battalion surgeon of the anti-aircraft artillery battalion. Special service, athletic, recreation officer of the battalion; unit sanitary officer. Member of special court marshal board. Served 1941-1946. Saw action in 5 major campaigns: Northern France, Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. Served in the 1st Army, 29th Infantry at D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. Served with the 3rd Army under General Patton. Awarded Bronze Star, American Defense Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal, WWII Victory Medal and Occupation of Germany Medal.
