Served on command ship for Invasion of Southern France, with stops in Palermo, Sicily, Naples, Italy, Island of Corsica, Toulon and France. Also, served on Admiral Byrd's command ship, North Star, taking supplies to weather stations on both sides of Greenland above Arctic Circle.
