Activity During WWII

Entered the Army shortly after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Prior to that time, he had been serving in the National Guard and was stationed in Portland, Maine at Fort McKinley. From Maine, he was sent to Greenland, then to North Africa, Sicily, France and Germany as part of an artillery outfit. He was discharged at the end of the war, after serving over four years. Awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
