Activity During WWII

Enlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 30, 1941, at the age of 20. He attended basic training in Jefferson Banks, Missouri. Served with the 359th Air Service Squadron in North Africa and Italy. Drove heavy Army trucks, transporting military personnel and hauling military supplies. He was involved in battles in Tunisia, Algeria, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno and Italy. Discharged at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on June 21, 1945 after three years, five months and 21 days of service. Awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
