Activity During WWII

Drafted into the Army on October 20, 1942, at the age of 36. He served with the 512th Engineer Light Pontoon Company in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and in Central Europe as an engineer and motor boat operator. Was discharged at the Separation Center at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on December 1, 1945 after serving 2 years, one month, and eleven days in the Army. He was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Theater Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
