Activity During WWII

Drafted into the Army Air Corps on October 20, 1942, at the age of 21. He attended Signal Corps School at Camp Crowder, Missouri for nine weeks in 1943, and studied construction and pole line communication while there. Afterwards, he served in the China-Burma-India Theater for 34 months with the 432nd Signal Construction Company in Company B. He was discharged from the Army Air Corps at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on December 22, 1945 after serving three years, two months and two days. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal, the Legion of Merit Citation, the American Theater Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
