As a reserve officer, Robert Earl went into active service in January 1941 for a year in the 2nd Armored Division. Before his year had been served, WWII was declared and he was in for the duration. He served in North Africa, Sicily, England, and the Normandy invasions. His service carried him all the way to the end of war.
