He was a navigator and a member of the James Bullis B-24 bomber crew, stationed on Guam. Flew pre-invasion raids over Iwo Jima and some by-passed Islands. Did a sea search for a lost-at-sea 4-star general prior to the invasion of Okinawa, ending up in Hawaii defense. Crew disbanded Christmas 1945 with all crew members intact.
