Activity During WWII

Served May 18, 1943 to June 16, 1945. Honorably discharged from Camp Butner Convalescent Hospital in North Carolina. Active in the European Theatre. Served in combat in Northern France, Rhineland and the Invasion of Normandy; July 13, 1944 with company A, 47th Armored Infantry Battalion, 5th Armored Division, 3rd Army. Served at the Battle of the Bulge (Malmedy area). GERMAN paratroopers were deployed and separated the outfit. He was STRANDED in the snow for 3 days alone and was finally found by medics. He was then transferred from Wales to Camp Butner, North Carolina. Received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign ribbon with 3 bronze battle stars, good conduct medal, combat infantryman badge and WWII Victory medal.
