ENTERED MILITARY SERVICE IN NOVEMBER, 1942. SERVED AS A YEOMAN FIRST CLASS WITH THE SEABEES DURING THE WAR, INCLUDING IN THE AMERICAN THEATER AT NORFOLK, VIRGINIA AND PORT HUENEME, CALIFORNIA. SAILED OVERSEAS IN APRIL, 1943 AND SERVED IN THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER. STATIONED IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC AREA ON GUADALCANAL WITH THE 61ST NAVAL CONSTRUCTION BATTALION IN 1943-1944. AWARDED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, AND WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
