Activity During WWII

After the war he transferred to the ordnance corps, regular army. Was sent to Johns Hopkins Graduate School of Physics for a Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) degree. Later awarded the Meritorious Medal. ROTC Gettysburg College - called to active duty. Sent to Officer Candidate School (OCS) and to fight in Germany. Awarded Bronze Star in enemy landmine rescue on the Siegfried Line: 1 killed , 4 wounded. Served in occupation forces.
