Activity During WWII

Entered active service on September 26, 1942 at Camp Grant, Illinois. Infantry basic for 6 weeks at Camp Walters, Mineral Wells, Texas. Assigned to the 13th armored division, 46th armored regiment in November 1942. Renamed the 46th armored tank battalion at Camp Beale, California: trained there until November 1943. Transferred to Camp Bowie, Brownwood, Texas. Deployed overseas in January 1945 to Le Havre, France. Campaigns: Rhineland and Central Europe. Awarded the American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, 2 battle stars, good conduct medal and WWII Victory Medal. Discharged on November 5, 1945 at Fort MacArthur, California.
