Enlisted November 1942. Qualified as a Rifle Sharpshooter, served in Asiatic-Pacific area, September 21, 1944 to November 16, 1945. New Hebrides. Participated in Okinawa Operation. Received letter of Commendation and Ribbon for Excellent Service in the line of his profession as Chief Mechanic of the Transportation Section of a Marine Aircraft Group during operations against the enemy on Okinawa, Shima April 5 to June 27, 1945.
