Activity During WWII

Lieutenant Preston was in full charge of Signal Repair Shop and the two mobile radio repair teams responsible for the inspection and repair of all marine radios on ships docked at port, from January 15 to June 27, 1945. The Signal Repair Shops handled an average of 150 repair projects a month, besides maintaining the entire teletype system of the port. This also inspected, and where necessary repaired the marine radios; approximately 250 ships berthed at the U.S. Docks. Lieutenant Preston executed his duties as Officer in Charge, Signal Repair, in a superior manner, displaying considerable initiative, high intelligence, and superior leadership.
