Participated in the Rhineland Campaign as a gunner and radio operator in an armored car with the 97th Reconnaissance Troop Mechanized. Participated in the army of occupation in Japan. Awarded Sharpshooter Rifle Badge, American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal.
