Activity During WWII

AFTER GRADUATION FROM THE NAVAL ACADEMY IN 1941 HE WAS ASSIGNED TO BATTLESHIP USS OKLAHOMA AND WAS KILLED IN THE JAPANESE ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR. THE NAVY HONORED HIM BY NAMING A SHIP AFTER HIM USS PRIDE DE-323 THAT SERVED THE REST OF THE WAR.
