Assigned to Private First Class. 31st Division Philippine Army. Inducted November 15, 1941 into the U.S. Army Forces in the Far East upon orders of President Roosevelt. Duty at 31st Division Headquarters G-3 Operations in Bataan battles, sent to Corregidor attached to Company E, anti-parachute, anti-aircraft gun, upon fall of Bataan and saw action on Corregidor bringing down Japanese aircraft until its surrender and became POW in Capaz Concentration Camp, Bilibid Prisons until September 1, 1942, became sick of diarrhea, dysentery and malnutrition. Awarded several service medals.
