Graduated from Central High School Oklahoma City in 1940. Attended Oklahoma City Methodist University. Following Pearl Harbor she was employed by the U.S. Navy Department Bureau of Supplies in Washington, D.C. Other positions during WWII included secretary positions at the U.S. Department of Justice Land Division, Oklahoma City and Armed Forces Radio Service, Hollywood, California.
