JOINED THE ARMY MEDICAL CORPS IN 1942. SERVED IN THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN THEATER WITH 348TH ENGINEER COMBAT BATTALION. ON D-DAY, HE SET UP THE FIRST MEDICAL CAMP ON OMAHA BEACH AT THE NORMANDY, FRANCE LANDING SITE. PERFORMED DUTIES AS BATTALION SURGEON AND LED A MEDICAL DETACHMENT OF 15 MEN. AWARDED THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE HONORABLE SERVICE LAPEL BUTTON.
