SERVED IN THE EUROPEAN THEATER WITH THE 101ST AIRBORNE. DIED SEPTEMBER 28, 1944 IN HOLLAND AND IS BURIED AT THE NETHERLANDS AMERICAN CEMETERY. RECEIVED 2 PURPLE HEARTS AND THE BRONZE STAR. ALSO RECEIVED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL AND THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH BRONZE ARROWHEAD FOR THE AIRBORNE INVASION OF NORMANDY. HE RECEIVED 2 BRONZE SERVICE STARS FOR THE NORMANDY AND RHINELAND CAMPAIGNS, WWII VICTORY MEDAL, COMBAT INFANTRYMAN BADGE, GLIDER BADGE, MARKSMAN BADGE WITH RIFLE BAR, DISTINGUISHED UNIT EMBLEM AND THE NETHERLANDS ORANGE LANYARD.
