He was the Sergeant of the guard of the Signal Corps replacement training center of Fort Monmouth, New Jersey on December 7, 1941. Entered the Signal Corps Officer Candidate School (OCS) and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on August 13, 1942. Served in the Pacific Theater as message center officer, 31st signal company, 31st Infantry Division, Mindanao, philippine Islands. Received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon with 2 battle stars, WWII Victory Medal, American Defense Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Transferred to U.S. Air Force after WWII. Served 26 years and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
