Served with the 379th Anti-Aircraft Automatic Weapons Battalion in the European Theater of Operations. In the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns in Holland and Germany, including the clean-up of the Ruhr Pocket to cross the Elbe. Gave cover to the 82nd, then followed them across. Headed for Denmark but were slowed down by a number of surrendering Germans. Remained on the east bank of the Elbe until the Russians took over occupation. Withdrew to the Hanover area and went into railroad security until shipped home for discharge.
