PRIVATE. SERVED IN THE EUROPEAN THEATER. HE WAS ASSIGNED TO THE 1ST INFANTRY DIVISION, 26TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 3RD BATTALION, COMPANY K. HE FOUGHT BATTLES IN AFRICA AND SICILY IN 1943. LANDED ON OMAHA BEACH, NORMANDY, ON D-DAY, JUNE 6, 1944. HE CONTINUED TO FIGHT BATTLES THROUGH FRANCE TOWARD GERMANY ENGAGING THE ENEMY IN PLACES SUCH AS SAINT-LO, FRANCE AND THE FALAISE GAP IN NORTH WEST FRANCE. WAS WOUNDED IN AACHEN, GERMANY ON OCTOBER 16, 1944. HE WAS AWARDED THE PURPLE HEART.
