SERVED AS COMPANY CLERK, THEN FIRST SERGEANT. WAS DECORATED WITH A SILVER STAR FOR ACTION, JANUARY 1945. HE AND TWO OF HIS BUDDIES DESTROYED FOUR GERMAN TANKS. THEY WERE PART OF THE 94TH INFANTRY DIVISION WHICH WAS PART OF PATTON'S THIRD ARMY.
